Failure to enrol is the outcome that matters, and it is settled at the moment of capture — by optics, pressure guidance, ambient light rejection and the quality feedback the operator sees. Not by the matcher downstream.
Published accuracy figures are measured in laboratories on cooperative subjects. They tell you very little about a market town at midday with a queue of agricultural workers whose fingerprints have been worn flat by thirty years of work. Multiply a few percent of failure across a national population and it stops being a technical issue and becomes a political one.

Can we buy devices without buying a DNH system?
Yes, with full SDK access and standards-conformant output.
Will they work with our existing ABIS?
They emit ISO/IEC 19794 and ANSI/NIST-ITL, which is what a conforming ABIS ingests. We'll run an integration test against your platform before you commit to volume.
What if a better device appears mid-programme?
Because the output is standards-native, devices can be substituted without re-templating the gallery. That is the main practical reason to insist on conformance at procurement rather than accepting a proprietary format.
How do you handle firmware updates on offline devices?
Signed update packages applied from removable media by a local operator, with rollback if verification fails.
