Privacy policy

This policy covers this website only. It does not cover the identity systems DNH builds and operates for governments. In those systems the government is the data controller and its own policy applies. If you are a citizen with a question about your national ID record, contact the issuing authority — we cannot access, correct or delete your record, and we are not permitted to.

The site collects personal data in one place only: the contact form.

Server logs. The hosting provider records IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, as standard for any web server. These are used for security and to diagnose faults, and are kept for up to 24 months.

Analytics. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, where people click, and where they get stuck. Clarity records anonymised interaction data (pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, and session recordings with keystrokes and form contents masked) and sets cookies to do so. It loads only after you accept analytics cookies; if you decline, Clarity does not run and none of this is collected. Nothing Clarity collects is used to identify you personally.

This site uses two kinds of cookies:

• Strictly necessary — set for the site to function, for example to remember your language preference. These do not require consent.
• Analytics — set by Microsoft Clarity to measure how the site is used (for example _clck and _clsk). These are only set after you accept analytics cookies. Until you accept, none are set, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. If you decline, or accept only what is necessary, Clarity does not load. Your choice is remembered so we do not ask again on every visit.

Contact form submissions are received and handled by DNH personnel. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.

Our website is hosted on servers located in Amsterdam. If you contact us from outside that jurisdiction, your data will be transferred there.

Where data leaves your country, we rely on the appropriate legal transfer mechanism for your location. This is being finalised with counsel and will be stated here.

Enquiry data is kept for 24 months from our last contact with you, after which it is deleted. Server logs are kept for up to 24 months.

If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep it by law.

Under UAE PDPL, and under GDPR if you are in the EU or EEA, you have the right to:

• ask what personal data we hold about you
• have inaccurate data corrected
• have your data deleted
• object to or restrict how we use it
• receive your data in a portable format
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent

We update this policy when what we do with data changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
